600th Anniversary Launch Events

18th January 2023

This week we have been delighted to launch our 600th Anniversary both in school and in the local community.

In school, students and staff have been presented with special edition 600th Anniversary badges, received 600th Anniversary assemblies involving period music and drama, been treated to a chamber choir performance, and to a very special Town Crier announcement at 14:23.

In the Chantry Chapel in town, our students have hosted a Community Cafe, performed historic drama and music performances, Year 7 have visited for an immersive experience of what life was like in 1423, and we have hosted an evening candlelit launch ceremony including a blessing in Latin from Reverend Peter Williams.

We have also been very lucky to be visited by the BBC who wanted to cover our story. You can view one of the news pieces below.

Many thanks to everyone involved, and to those who were able to join us. The 2023 Calendar of Events is now in full swing and we hope to see many more students, staff, alumni and local community join us for more celebratory events throughout the year!
