600 Minute Challenge: 1st February – 28th February 2021

It’s back for the 5th year! And this year perhaps we all need it more than ever! 

The Challenge

We have challenged all students, their families, staff, alumni and members of the local community to take part in 600 Minutes of activity during the month of February. It’s free to join in, but if you’d like to make a voluntary donation to the Sports Campus, we’d be grateful!

Ideas and resources to help you get active:

1. Take an online fitness class. Local PT studios, Bates Body Factory, The Energy Effect and Claire Results PT, have recorded some special tailored workouts for RLS students and families taking part in our Challenge! Check them out here:

2. Take a Yoga Class! Our very own Mr Porteous has recommended a beginner’s online yoga class to keep you active (whilst inside and warm):

Yoga Dose
A 30 day program designed to give you the total yoga body. These 30 days of yoga will challenge you to build strength, improve flexibility, and develop mindfulness on and off the mat.  
 
3. Walk and Cycle Routes around Buckingham. Check out our ideas sheet, and email us with your own suggestions
 
4. Spotify Playlists – our students have put together some spotify playlists to listen to whilst walking or working out, to lift or calm your mood, whatever you need at the time!
 

Making a voluntary donation to the new Sports Campus

The main aim of this Challenge is maximum participation, we want to encourage everyone to get active – which is at the heart of what we want to achieve with our brand new Sports Campus building. This inspirational innovative new facility still needs £230k to be completed, so if you’re in a position to make a donation to our fundraising you can really help.

1/Check you’re tracked your minutes

Use our STRAVA 600 Minutes Challenge Club to collate what you’ve achieved.

Or, keep track of your minutes throughout February using our 600 Minute Challenge activity log.

 

2/Submit your completion form

At the end of the month you can show us how you got on by submitting your completion form, where you can attach a photo of your activity log as evidence of your challenge completion, or a photo of your STRAVA log. Everyone that completes the challenge will be entered into a Prize Draw to win a £25 Amazon voucher and RLS students who successfully complete the challenge will also be awarded five house points!

3/Help us make our Sports Campus dream a reality.
