Valencia sports tour

On October 21st the Royal Latin Sixth Form sports tour set off for Valencia. Throughout the tour, the students enjoyed various fun activities together and spent their time discovering the beautiful city of Valencia, famous for their paella. The teams played exceptionally well and really showcased the tremendous talent that Royal Latin sports students have. They spent 5 days in Valencia, playing 2 games each against regional clubs and federation teams. On October 25th the students left for England, having had an amazing time together in sunny Valencia.


The teams enjoyed a local walk through Turia Park, bowling, afternoon strolls of the city, a guided cycling tour of Valencia which included the Turia Gardens, The Serranos Towers and the contrasting styles of the Baroque architecture and the modern works from Santiago Calatrava, and relaxation at the beach.

“This was a really tough game against a regional squad. The girls dug deep and defended for long periods of time”

RLS vs Valencia Club de Hockey
(drew 1-1)

‘This was a much more even game where RLS played some flowing hockey and stretched the opposition. We had the majority of play and created several chances’

(won 14-11)

“Another close game! Latin were down 11-7 at halftime with 2 players on yellow cards. With 1 minute to go and 15 players finally on the pitch Latin scored to win the game”

RLS vs Valencia Rugby Club
(lost 20 – 14)

“A really even game that went down to the wire. The boys played well as a team and defended strongly” ( Miss Dobson)
