It is clear that we are entering uncharted territory in education at the moment. Thank you to those people who have contacted me regarding their applications to Sixth Form.
The past weeks have been a great source of anxiety for many students and their parents. Hopefully, the following points will be helpful:
We remain committed to placing as many students into our Sixth Form as possible.
We will examine the GCSE grades that you are awarded in the summer very carefully and we will consider any mitigating circumstances as much as possible.
We will not be contacting your schools or teachers for further information at the current time. We ask you not to approach your schools or subject teachers on our behalf regarding predicted grades.
We hope that the Taster Days (29 June & 2 July) will still take place. We will contact you if this changes.
We will be keen to hear how students have used their time during the next few months, the more creative the better!
We would like students to be as fully prepared for A-Level as possible and have produced the following booklet to provide guidance on what students can do. We are aware that lots of you must be dealing with very challenging circumstances so please do take care of yourselves and your families.
Mr Jason Skyrme
